These paintings are informed by the colors and terrain of southeastern Wyoming. They chronicle the memory and impression of my experience wandering through the prairie and foothills during the spring of 2012. The weather would change by the day, sometimes the hour. The cattle were scrawny, the coyotes were hungry, and the sunlight was glorious. Despite my isolation, I continually found myself surrounded by an overwhelming sense of presence. The land allowed me the freedom to roam, but watched me the entire time.
