wyoming paintings, 2012-2013

These paintings are informed by the colors and terrain of southeastern Wyoming. They chronicle the memory and impression of my experience wandering through the prairie and foothills during the spring of 2012 while in residence at Brush Creek Foundation for the Arts. Despite my relative isolation, I continually found myself surrounded by an overwhelming sense of presence. The land allowed me the freedom to roam, but cautiously watched me the entire time.
