2024 Studio Updates

So far, 2024 has been a busy and memorable year. And while I’ve been quiet on the creative front (not really, just keeping the work to myself for now), Waffle House Vistas has continued to expand across the globe. In addition, it has finally come together in my first solo museum exhibition! Here are some highlights:

Waffle House Vistas (second edition)

The second edition of Waffle House Vistas is a smash hit! With new essays and 40+ new photographs made in 2021 - 2022, this is the definitive version of the project. The reach of this work has been incredible and I’m grateful to everyone who has purchased a copy, gifted one to a family member, and sat down with me to have rich conversations about our lives, where we come from, who we are, and what our favorite WH order is. With tens of thousands of copies sold, this is the photography book that broke the mold and found the masses.

If you don’t have your copy, you can order one from the Bitter Souther General Store:

Waffle House Vistas exhibition at the Georgia Museum of Art

If you’re swinging through Athens, Georgia, be sure to check out my first solo museum exhibition! Five photographs from Waffle House Vistas, printed 24 x 36 inches each, is paired with a newly created time-based piece, expanding upon the project in a poignant, yet supportive way. You can read more about the exhibition here:

New work on the horizon…

I’ve been hard at work on my next large photography project since last September. It is vast, complicated, and, at times, overwhelming. But also joyful, immersive, and powerful. I’ve pushed myself, made art in new ways, and challenged the way I make images in order to properly capture and engage with these narratives.

I can’t wait to talk to you about it and begin rolling out these images. Trust me, 2025 will be a magical year.
